LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess Mediawire) — Guy Oseary, best known as U2’s manager, believes in moving the music business forward. Attempting to resolve making profit in a time of abysmal record sales, Oseary is moving towards music innovation in the world of internet and iPods.
Oseary has enlisted a number of high-profile music managers from across the industry to sign up to a new venture in partnership with Live Nation, titled Maverick according to Billboard.
Names involved in Maverick are Laffitte Management's Ron Laffitte, I Am Other's Caron Veazey, Blueprint Group's Gee Roberson and Cortez Bryant, Reign Deer's Larry Rudolph and Adam Leber, Quest Management's Scott Rodger and Spalding Entertainment's Clarence Spalding.
Guy Oseary said: "There are still a lot of people who are scared of innovation. There's still a group that's so quick to judge anyone trying [new things], and that's one of our handicaps in the music business. We could all do so much more if a bunch of us got in a room more often."
Maverick will report to Live Nation Entertainment president/CEO Michael Rapino and Live Nation's Artist Nation management group.
